HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR DENTURE

HANDLE WITH CARE - AVOID DROPPING

Did you know that Acrylic is quite a hard material? It doesn't have any give in it like plastic or rubber. If you drop it on a hard surface like the sink or the floor, it can break or fracture. It is worth placing a bathmat or towel around the sink when you are removing and cleaning your denture.

REMOVE YOUR DENTURE AT NIGHT

It is important for your mouth to rest at night. The soft tissue and gums will be healthier when they have time to relax from the pressure of a denture against them.
You will reduce the chance of bone loss,  bacterial growth and gum inflammation.

CLEAN EVERY NIGHT

Perhaps the easiest thing to use is a mild solution of warm water with washing up liquid. A denture cleaner or non abrasive toothpaste also work well of course. Avoid any whitening toothpaste or any cleaning product with bleach.
You can use a hard bristle toothbrush to give the denture a good brush and clean around the teeth and all surfaces. Rinse well after and leave the Denture overnight in a glass of clean water ready for the morning.
